On Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 8pm EST / 7pm CST (same hours MDT/PDT), Allyssa Jones will broadcast live from Chicago to 20 parties around the country, each with 20 music lovers in attendance. This exciting format brings the power of information technology to the indie house concert tradition. Why this format? Why not just book a bar or nightclub? Good question! Answer: We didn’t want to limit the audience to one club in one town, and miss an opportunity to celebrate with literally hundreds people. Plus, why not give folks an excuse to have a summer party? (We know, technically it’s late spring, but…) How does it work? It’s easy! Just block off June 6th on your calendar and throw a party for 20 people or more. All you need to join the webcast is a computer, internet and a TV. Schedule your party to to start at least 30 minutes before air time and you’re all set! So, I can have any kind of party I want? Yep- that’s the beauty of this format. Have people over for dinner, cocktails, Scrabble, a theme party, you decide! All you need to do is guarantee 20 guests. We’ve found the best way to do that is to invite at least 30 people and pester them for at least 3 weeks. Tell them they’ll be making indie music history. That always helps. Do I have to have my party on June 6th? A thousand times yes! This is a one-shot deal. Also, the video the “command central” concert in Chicago will not be available for a while, so the only way to be a part of the celebration is to have a party on June 6th and tune in. What about the technology? Sounds a little scary… Don’t worry. All you’ll need is a computer with high-speed internet, a TV or projection set-up and the appropriate cables. We’ll provide instructions is you need them, plus we have test-casts scheduled before the big event to help make sure everything runs smoothly for you. Will the webcast run during my whole party? No. The live set is about 45 minutes, but you will receive other materials to watch and play. In addition to connection instructions, you will receive a cd of Allyssa’s music to add to your party playlist and a dvd with clips from the Boston preview concert and her very first music video, “Captured”. Wait a minute- it’s a CD release. How will you sell CDs? This is another cool feature! The computer you use to stream the webcast will do double duty. Your guests will be able to purchase music and merchandise direct from AllyssaJones.com. No inventory for you to manage or return, no money for you to collect. Just pop open the site and step aside. Okay, so what will it cost me? Regular registration is $50.00. Considering that the cover at a club would be $10 per person (plus parking, food and drinks), a private concert for $50 is a real steal! In addition to access to the webcast, hosts receive a Party Kit with: • 25 pre-stamped invitation postcards • Preview copy of 35 • Party playlist CD including tracks from Daughter’s Dance and several unreleased songs • How-to instructions specific to your operating system • A free merch item of your choice to display during the party and keep for yourself after! But wait- FLAGSHIP level is even better! For $75.00, your party will be broadcast along with the concert via Skype. It will be like “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” except you’ll be the one on TV! Flagship party hosts also receive extra invitations and an exclusive, one-of-a kind gift. I’m hooked! How do I sign up? Excellent! Registration materials are at the bottom of this page in the attachment section. Deadline is May 15th to allow for planning on your end and processing on ours. Anything else I need to know? Just to recap, Allyssa Jones’ 20/20 Release Party is on June 6th with the live webcast streaming at 9pm EST.
